I've been to many concerts but last Friday's was the most memorable.

Juan dela Cruz Band.

Watching the icon of Pinoy Rock perform a few feet away from me was unbelievable. They sang most of their hits and a few solo guitar instrumentals by Wally Gonzales. The man is a genius! He looked like he was just standing there holding a guitar na parang wala lang, but he was actually giving us one hell of a performance. Wala akong masabi.

And yes, Pepe is crazier in person. I'm not sure if he wasn't drunk because he looks drunk all the time pero panalo, wala akong ginawa kundi humalakhak dahil sa kanya. Sayang nga lang, I forgot to tell him I love him when I had the chance. Tiningnan nya 'ko at kinausap. Seryoso. There was a time when my friend asked me if his guitar was really working because he seemed like he was just there to fool around. Nakasaksak naman, mahina nga lang. Hehehe.

Among the three, Mike Hanopol was the quiet one. I didn't see him smile or laugh at Pepe's antics. He talks when necessary but most of the time hindi. Pero ang gitara ha, wala talagang ulo. Pano kaya tinotono yon?

Special guests include Up Dharma Down and Sugarfree. Sugarfree!!!!

The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra and violinist Lucia Micarelli were also there. MPO did Hallelujah as their opening song. But their best performance was with Lucia when they performed Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. Apparently, Lucia performed that song several times in her tour. I saw a few videos in YouTube.

I was actually waiting for my most favorite Juan dela Cruz Band song Mr. Kengkoy but they didn't perform it. I know it doesn't fit but I grew up listening to that song, blame it to my father.

Hoy, hoy, hoy, Mr. Kengkoy
Bakit ka nangangamoy?
Hoy, hoy, hoy, Mr. Kengkoy
Ikaw ay nangangamoy kengkoy...

Peyton Sawyer is right.

PEOPLE ALWAYS LEAVE.

And most of them don't come back. Some of them do but they'll leave you again. They don't even think about how you feel when they leave you. All they think about is themselves. Not fair.

It's finally here!

I'm Yours. Studio version. First single to "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things."

I never mentioned it, but yes, I went to see Mandy Moore. Yay!

She has improved a lot and sounds so much better than before. And very pretty up close too. Starstruck ako, pramis! Haha! I just love her!

The only thing that pissed me off was that guy from Eastwood's sound department (that's what his shirt say anyway) who was trying to sell me a copy (not the original, take note) of the concert's setlist illegally. I don't know if that's how it really works pero naasar talaga ako. If it's the original baka pinatulan ko pa, pero hindi eh! Bumubulong bulong pa sya, halatang bawal yung ginagawa nya. Hmp! Ganon na ba talaga kahirap kumita ngayon???

Yes, I saw "Across The Universe" again (my 3rd time) last Saturday but this time it's in the cinema. I just love this movie.

Bono, I love you again. I Am The Walrus is better in the big screen.
Sadie, Sadie, Sadie. Can I be your friend?
Jojo, I held my breath when your part in "Come Together" came. While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Amazing.
How can I not love Max? She's so heavyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Jim Sturgess is L-O-V-E. )

And Idol's episode was Lennon-McCartney. Love.

I still don't like you, Mr. Kite. Even if you're Eddie Izzard.

I recently discovered that people sell stuff on Multiply so I tried searching for shoes. Not only I found shoes, but also bags, clothing, and cosmetics. And since most of them are from the Philippines, I decided to step into the world of (local) online shopping.

I decided to get this:

I just have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before I get my hands (or feet) on them.

Browsing for garmets in Multiply is becoming addictive for me. Once I started searching, I don't want to stop and I even stay up late on weekends so I can look for more stuff.

And while most people are getting ready for summer, I look forward to the rainy days so I can wear a pair of Plueys or Wellington boots. I call it bota with colorful designs. I haven't got myself a bota yet but I'm planning to. I just don't know if I'll have the guts to wear them. Hehe. At ang isa ko pang gusto? To own a pair of boots like this:

Siguro ipapagawa ko na lang to sa Cubao. Choi, samahan mo ko!

I was thinking of writing something about my current favorite movie when [info]miss_choi told me she already did. So I went to read what she thought about it. I couldn't describe it any better than she did, that's exactly how I will write it if I could.

And because I can, I will just list down what I love and/or hate (erm, not exactly... let's just say there are scenes which I love less) about the movie.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Jude. I am completely in love with this guy. A guy who can sing and with looks like that? What can you ask for? He can sing "Girl" and "All my Loving" to me over and over and I won't get tired of it. His voice reminds me of Jason Mraz from time to time.
Prudence. She's just lovely.
Lucy. Whoever knew Evan Rachel Wood can sing?
Max. A college drop-out. Funny. Astig.
Jojo. If only I can pull off "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" like that I am ready to die.

Jude singing the first few lines of "Girl", "All My Loving", "I've Just Seen A Face", "Something", "Strawberry Fiels Forever", "Revolution", "Across The Universe", "All You Need Is Love".
Max being drafted. "I Want You So Bad (She's So Heavy)", "Hey Jude", "Strawberry Fields Forever".
Lucy's "If I Fell" and "Blackbird".
Prudence's "I Want To Hold Your Hand".
Jojo's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Sadie's "Oh! Darling" and "Don't Let Me Down". Nahilo ako sa "Helter Skelter" nya.
Group's "Because" and "Dear Prudence".
Selma Hayek. Nakakatawa.
Smashing and pinning of strawberries, plus the Rooftop concert. Wow.

HATE HATE HATE.
Some scenes are irrelevant. It only made the movie very long.
Bono's "I Am The Walrus". Nakakahilo.
Mr. Kite, why didn't you sing???? You just kept on talking, plus your scene is irrelevant.

A movie with a fantastic soundtrack, music from my favorite band interpreted by today's artists. I am not a big fan of remakes, I still couldn't make myself listen to that Beatles tribute (or Lennon tribute yata) CD they have with Avril Lavigne in it. But this one is different, first of all this is not a tribute and secondly, this is so much better. Another Beatles inspired movie I like is "I Am Sam" because of, yes, you got it right, the soundtrack.

You Act Like You Are 19 Years Old

You are a teenager at heart. You don't quite feel like a grown up yet, but you don't feel like a kid.

You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

You're quite rebellious, and you don't like being told what to do. You like to do things your way.

You have your own unique style, taste in music, and outlook on life.

I have this list of things I want to do before turning a certain age. Most of them are achievable but they’re too many and I don’t have enough time. Plus, tamad ako. Yun yun eh.

The one thing I want to do before turning 40 is to travel around the world. Of course I will travel around my country first, but after that Europe will be my first destination.

Things I want to be good at before turning 30 (don’t have enough time left. Eek!).
  • Guitar playing
  • Playing the keyboard
  • Playing the drums (or at least that thing they call “kahon”)
  • Writing
  • Graphics design
  • (Digital) Photography

And speaking of Photography, Pam and I were able to attend a Digital Photography session two weeks ago at AIMS. It was sponsored by Acer and famous celebrity photographer Patrick Uy was the facilitator. It was very basic and mostly he talked about things we already know. The best thing about the session was the opportunity to do a photo shoot with a real model. I forgot her name but she looks like Heart “Que Horror” Evanglista, only she’s a lot prettier and much much taller.

obviously, i still have a lot to learn. paturo naman dyan, Papa Christian!
